Caught In The Act

•March 30, 2009 • Leave a Comment

img_jojo_150Caught in the Act is a comedy show which put on once  month at Madam Jojo’s in Leicester Square. It is hosted by JCX and Slick two presenters from Current television. Tickets usually range from between five to ten pounds.

The show consists of many games, giving the audience a chance to take part in the show. the presenters have a team of three people each, they compete with each other and by the end of the night whoever has the highest score wins.

I woud reccommend this show to people who like to just relax and have a laugh this is real comedy and you are bound to be satisfied by the end of the show.

A Woman’s Ultimate Indulgence

•March 30, 2009 • Leave a Comment

The most luxurious sanctuary for a woman is none other than The City Point Club found in East London. It is a special retreat catered for both genders but it is a perfect place for pampering and a great get-away from all the stress the world gives.

achocolatekatie

The Club consists of a spa that offers their clients diferent body treatments, day treatments and male treatments as well as their award -winning products. What is more appealing is their popular ‘Chocolate Indulgence Day’ package which includes a ‘Gerard’s Chocolate Body treatment’, an ‘Express Facial’, a ‘welcome refreshing drink’ , a healthy lunch and full use of the club. This is definitely worth the money, if you have it!

Also, their high-end facilities such as their ‘20 metre ozone treated swimming pool’ that has ‘crystal clear water’ is certainly a hit for customers and overall the atmosphere and the tranquility of the surroundings helps relax a human being’s body mind and soul.

Notting Hill Arts Club

•March 29, 2009 • Leave a Comment

A ’specialist pioneering music and arts venue’, the Notting Hill Arts Club is nhac-1 located in the famous Notting Hill area that has been described to have ’set the musical map of London’. The club targets the more niche markets in the ever-growing, multi-cultural city and  offers its customers a variety of  genres of music according to what club night it is. Such as, Futuro Flamenco, Inspiration Information, Brazilian Love Affair, Radio4 , Beach Club and One World Affair.

“The NHAC has room for a small stage for live bands, a few old battered sofas for lounging around and a dark enough dance floor that’s perfect for forgetting all your inhibitions”. Elle Magazine

What is more special about this place is that many of the V.I.P guests are from the music industry and therefore, makes this venue a dream to play live in  for amateur artists and bands who are looking for a break in their careers.

Also, the exclusive, underground venue is available for private hire or to hold video shoots and photo shoots.

Ministry Of Vibe & Euphoria!

One of the largest dance clubs and lifestyle brands in the world, Ministry of Sound is well known for it’s ‘ownership’ and management of it’s self-titled independent record company dance club chain which has been extended to numerous continents such as Europe, Asia, North America and Australia. Ministry of Sound is still the most popular destination for fans of the world’s best dance music and is the predominant preferred club around.

I have visited Ministry and i found it electrifying. The atmosphere when you enter the club is so lively and the music which pumps into you, makes me want to race to the dance floor. Ministry is the type of place that allows you to breathe, when you are dancing you are in your own zone, your own state of mind, dancing feeling free and most importantly, having a good time. The DJs are awesome and without doubt they will play you your preferred tracks and a massive variety too. They hold approximately three rooms, hip hop and dancehall, funky house, and electro. What i found really interesting was the smoke that was pumping out of the swinging lights that rotate, and then it flows into the atmosphere, giving a heavenly sensation, its like you are in club heaven!

“I love Labour of Love so much that I have to limit my visits, as it’s a very dangerous place for ladies with a penchant for Le Shopping! I popped in there at the weekend and it has got some amazing new autumn stock. I’m saving up my pennies for one of its own-brand wool trenchcoats. Ahhh… the stuff that all 30-summat girls’ dreams are made of!”

Steph W

“Labour of love…a haven with lovely people with unique, beautiful artifacts of meticulous LABOUR. If you’re looking for something special that has been collated in a unique environment then here’s your spot…or you could just go and feast your eyes and be inspired!”

Walker

“Quite simply a gem! Everything in this shop is covetable and certainly a labour of love! Some really unusual stylish pieces at a snip for the designer quality and originallity. I got a stylish but funky cap and a neat little leopard cardi, ready to give my step a spring for spring! Great fashion advice too, thoroughly recommend a visit – if you haven’t been then you’re missing out!”

Fimos

Labour of Love boutique is situated in Upper East Islington and is by far one of the most renowned boutiques in London. It consistently is full of amazing things that I want to buy. It has a great mixture of affordable smaller items and more expensive clothes which I admit are more for the average person to admire rather than buy but I can’t think of anything better to do on a Saturday than gawk at expensive clothes. The staff are extremely friendly and are also helpful and welcoming. I love this little boutique that is unbeknown to most. The owner clearly has astounding taste. A visit is a must.

The Dream of Delicious Desserts

•March 27, 2009 • Leave a Comment

A dessert bar and cocktail lounge  located in the North West of London offers their customers the ultimate treat and experience that they will never forget. Their wide range of desserts and even their mouth-watering milkshakes are memorable in their own right.  In fact, their ’seductively’ chosen name ‘Flirtease’  speaks for itself.

‘Set in an intimate spot, flirtease oozes the ‘chill out vibe’ and are the perfect place to indulge you in a charismatic cocktail, creamy coffee and a sensuous sweet treat. Featuring an original bar with all the classics, we really focus on an independent fun-loving atmosphere with our own flirty flavour!’

“You woudn’t think Flirtease would bring heaven to your mouth when you step in because it’s sort of dark and situated in the corner of the street and from the outside looks more like a public bar. But when you get to meet the staff and see the desserts you start getting rid of your prejudice. When you get to taste the desserts it becomes your favourite place in the world. For the night at least!” -  By Aneta (Flirtease Customer)

Jerk Chicken- Kimo's Restaurant- image source: blogspot.com

This amazing restaurant offers the finest in Caribbean food, including all of your favourites of course: Fried Plantain, Ackee and Saltfish, Macarroni Cheese, Rice and Peas, Dumplings, Curry Goat and Rice and the famous Jerk Chicken!

The food at this restaurant in Hackney is sure to satisfy your taste buds, consequently leaving you aching for more! Not only is the food in this North East London shop something to look out for, so is the friendly, hasty service. The main part of the restuarant is a  £7.50 all-you-can-eat buffet, ensuring you go home on a full stomach and for a small price! However, once you finish your main course, there is a large selection of desserts for you to choose from. From yoghurts to ice-cream, anyone with a sweet tooth is sure to be content.

If you’re not too hungry however, why not visit the bar? This restaurant offers the best in alcoholic beverages, including your standard glass of red wine (my kind of drink) or more exicitng drinks like Sex on the Beach!

Kimo’s restaurant offers the best in Caribbean food but is open to anyone and everyone from any cultural background. If you’re up for it you can find the restaurant at: 184 Stoke Newington High Street, London, N16 7JD

Brick Lane

Brick Lane was an important area in the 20th century because it was the second wave of development of Anglo-Indian cuisine, as families from countries such as India voyaged to London to look for jobs. Most recently, this street has been classed to being an arty and fashionable area. The atmosphere is a very vibrant one and there is a considerable amount of space. It is most famous for its curry houses that are known for their cheap and extremely delicious food. This is one area where customers are actually allowed to bring their on beverages inside to enjoy with their food! The food, I must admit was exceptionally mouth-watering and I intend on going back there very soon.2810546979_5dd457d7c3

Has anyone set out to find only those unique, off the beat and path eateries that make us all go “hmmm… that’s worth a repeat”? That has definitely been my weekly goal. Yes, I know the risks have most probably outweighed the reward, but I think my stomach and I have been willing to take that chance.

Several members have mentioned to me all the articles I’ve thought about writing thus far. I know, my rating counts as well, but I think it’s going to be much more interesting to seek them out. These economic times will undoubtedly make that search that much more difficult. Anyone else out here in with lofty plans such as this?
